 Youth Group & Parish Snow Tubing NIght, Thursday, February 16th, 2012

Everyone young and old and inbetween is invited to join the youth group from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. as both churches come together for our annual snow tubing night at Snow Valley. Cost is $10 pp. Call 705-333-5061with any questions.

Town of Innisfil Prayer Breakfast: Wednesday, Feb. 15th, 2012

The local Churches in the township town togetheronce a year for a community prayer breakfast and this year we meet Feb. 15th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Stroud Arena; cost is $10/person. Please call the office to reserve seating and obtain tickets.

St. Peter's Pancake Supper: Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

As we prepare for our Lenten journey to begin, we gather together for Shrove Tuesday, to hold our annual pancake supper. We will gather from 5-7 p.m. in the parish hall for food and fellowship.

Ash Wednesday: February 22nd, 2012

Please join us as we begin our Lenten Journey for the imposition of Ashes and Communion. This special service marks the beginning of our season of self-reflection anf fast, as we journey with Christ towards the cross and resurrection. We will have an 11 a.m. service at St. Peter's and a 7 p.m. service at St. John's.

 

 Glasses for Guatemala: The Spice Girls at St. Peter's are heading up a collection of old glasses that will be sent to Guatemala. Good glasses are shippedl to Calgary to the Canadian Lion's Eyesight Recycling Centre (CLERC) where they are scripted and packed. Eye teams that are travelling around the world place orders with the CLERC and the glasses are shipped. Our contact is with a team in Guatemala. Please leave glasses in the basket at the back of the church or contact Carole at 431-2428 for all information.Glasses can also be dropped off any Sunday by 11 a.m. to St. Peter's. Thanks to everyone for their support.

20s and 30sh Group: The 20s-30s in the Parish will be meeting from time to time at various homes. The next meeting will be a Tubing evening at Horseshoe Valley in Barrie. Feb. 11th everyone will meet at the hill at 5 p.m. for an evening of tubing and light refreshments. Anyone in this age range wishing to join in the evening, please contact Carolyn Fabing @ 705-291-1978 for information and to plan the numbers.

40's-60's Group:  Next meeting TBA. Please call Karen Korevaar at 252-4066 if you are interested in attending.'

ACW: St. John's, Cookstown:  ACW meets the first Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. The location rotates among the members. Please call Frances Nevils at 458-9485 if you need more information.

Bible Studies: There is a woman's Bible study group, now in progress, under the guidance of Myrlene Boken. There are seventeen members at present who have been meeting at members' homes. For information please call Myrlene at 705-456-6731. 

Bible Study every Tuesday morning at Stella Webster's at 10:00 a.m. Please call Stella for information.

Faithworks/Outreach: Faithworks works toward empowering and inspiring individual Christians and every local church to develop their role at the hub of their community. The Faithworks campaign is once again under way. Please consider donating to this very worthwhile cause. Envelopes will be distributed at both churches. Please put donations on the collection plate or mail to the address given. See Fr. Matt about Faithworks.

Mens' Breakfast: Jack Leslie is now in charge of the men's breakfast. Call 458-1801 for information. The next breakfast is TBA. All breakfasts are held @ 8:30 a.m. @ Hot Stacks in Cookstown.  All men in the parish are encouraged to come out for fellowship and friendship.
